Derek is dedicated to crafting initiatives aimed at increasing housing affordability through responsible urban planning and zoning, the development of cost-effective housing solutions, the implementation of rent control measures, and the establishment of safety nets for individuals with lower incomes. He will collaborate closely with the Christiansburg town council to preserve the unique character of our town, protect green spaces, and safeguard our historical treasures.

Derek is committed to supporting our schools and the welfare of our students and educators. Central to his mission is the restoration of funding requested by MCPS that the current Board of Supervisors cut from the FY24 Budget. As a firm believer in the transformative power of education, he will fight tirelessly to secure more resources, to provide a first-rate learning experience for every student.
